The Tema Community Basketball League has grown tremendously according to League Public Relations Officer Prince Owusu who made the stated in the aftermath of the first round of semifinal games in the playoffs.

Owusu stated this in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com after watching Nungua Coldstore suffer a 42-46 loss to Tema Rockets and Spintex Knights beat Tema Community 4 48-37.

The league is in its fourth season since its inception in 2016 with just seven teams; the just ended regular season had 12 teams compete.

“What we witnessed today only goes to show that the league has grown tremendously all teams are putting in the effort you can see” Owusu said.

The games were exciting and produced huge results that surprised many fans gathered at the Tema Community 4 Court this past Sunday.

Two time league winners Coldstore suffered its second loss in 24 games while Knights tamed the partisan crowd to be a win away from its first ever finals appearance in the best of three game series.

The next wave of games is set for Sunday, January 26 at the same venue.
