Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games debutants Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) ended their respective campaigns in the Men’s Basketball Division earlier today.
At the University of Ghana (UG) Main Courts, GIJ forfeited its matchup against University of Education-Winneba (UEW) and lost in the process.
The team had just four players on the court at the time the game was scheduled to tip off instead of the standard starting five players. GIJ lost all games in the division including a 35-71 loss to GIMPA and a 8-103 loss to University of Cape Coast (UCC).
GIMPA on the other hand did play against University of Development Studies (UDS) in its final game of the tournament but did so without registering a win.
UDS hit GIMPA with a 120-42 result and flat out dominated the boards with its big and athletic roster; GIMPA trailed 32-99 at the end of the third quarter.
GIMPA narrowly missed out on a second win as the team fell 49-50 to University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in a previous matchup.
