University of Cape Coast (UCC) and University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) have secured wins on the penultimate round of games in the Men’s Division Basketball at the 2020 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games.

UCC beat University of Education-Winneba (UEW) 79-68 to maintain its hunt for a gold medal at the biannual games. Beating UEW means a win over University of Ghana (UG) on Friday, January 17 at 17:00 GMT at the UG Main Court.

Veteran Guard Benjamin Debrah scored four points in the final minutes of the fourth quarter to seal the win after UEW threatened to whip out a six point deficit with 1:27 minutes remaining.

UEW Guard Benjamin Omari couldn’t play a part late on in the game after exiting with a knee injury; the team plays Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) on Friday.

In the other game, UENR beat Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) 56-39; GIMPA couldn’t recover from a close 49-50 loss to University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).
