Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and University of Cape Coast (UCC) earlier today picked up impressive wins in Men’s Basketball at the ongoing 2020 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games.
This year’s Games are being held at the University of Ghana (UG) and 11 public universities are participating for the first time in the history of the biannual multi sport competition.
KNUST beat University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) 66-24 in the first game of the day before UCC hammered University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) 81-33 in the follow up game.
KNUST dominated proceedings from start to finish leading 31-7 and 48-18 at the end of the second and third quarters respectively.
A top shooting performance from veteran Shooting Guard Benjamin Debrah gave UCC a huge 40-9 first half lead but UMaT improved in the second half and bagged a couple of three point shots in the final quarter.
KNUST and UCC remain in contention for medal places in the competition.
