Ghana Forward Joel Mensah made a brief appearance in San Diego State University’s Men’s Basketball game against Boise State University earlier today.

San Diego beat Boise 83-65 to record its 17th win of the season and move closer to match the team’s best record of 20 straight wins recorded in the 2010-2011 season with two time NBA Champion Kawhi Leonard leading the way.

Mensah played just two minutes off the bench and went scoreless as he battles back spasms that kept him out of the 72-52 win over Wyoming prior to playing against Boise State.

The second year Forward was in good form when he last played extensive minutes as he registered eight points, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks against Utah State.

He stepped in as a replacement for fellow Ghanaian Forward/Center Nathan Mensah who has missed the past four games due to respiratory illness.

Like Joel, Nathan is in his second year and leads the team in rebounds (6.8) and blocks (1.7) this season. San Diego plays Fresno State next on Tuesday, January 14.
