An entourage from Keta Business College (KETABUSCO) will meet the top hierarchy of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the upcoming week to discuss matters related to the school’s participation in the just ended 2020 Sprite Ball Championship.
Basketballghana.com can confirm the news after organizers of Ghana’s biggest High School Basketball competition officially reported on the issue.
KETABUSCO beat Mfantsipim School 48-40 to clinch the tournament and win its first ever Sprite Ball title; the school qualified from the Volta Region with St. Paul’s Senior High School in the Boys Division.
In the aftermath of KETABUSCO’s win however, cheating allegations surrounding some players have been raised by some schools that participated in the tournament and some members of the public.
The allegations have come in varied forms including ineligibility and impersonation per reports gathere by Ghana’s basketball portal.
The statement from Rite Sports official page on Twitter stated:
‘The leadership of the Ghana Education Service has asked the Headmaster and PE Staff of Keta Business College to come to the Headquarters next week for further discussions on the subject”.
