West Africa Senior High School (WASS) has for the second time in as many years missed a big opportunity to win the Sprite Ball Championship.

After losing to Mfantsipim School in the 2019 Final game, WASS lost 21-23 to the same team in the semifinals of this year’s tournament and miss out on a place in the final game.

The very close encounter had both teams play with a lot of intensity and shots from the free throw line was primed to be the determining factor in the matchup.

That turned out exactly so as Prince Gbagbadzi missed two free throws which would have given WASS the lead after battling hard from a 14-16 first half deficit.

On the other hand, Mfantsipim Captain Gabriel Hammond scored to give his team a two point lead which turned out to be the winning margin.

Mfantsipim plays Keta Business College in the final game for the chance to win a sixth title. Keta beat Mfantsipim 32-24 in the opening game of the tournament.

In the Girls Division, Kumasi Girls Senior High School sealed third place thanks to a 14-6 win over Osu PRESEC.
