Ashanti Region based schools run of final appearances in the Girls Division of the Sprite Ball Championship is very much alive after St. Louis Senior High School sealed its place in the 2020 Sprite Ball Finals.
St. Louis survived a massive scare to beat Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC Osu) 26-18 after double overtime in the best game in the division thus far.
Fati Adams was the heroine of the intense matchup as she scored five points in the closing minutes in overtime and hand her school a first ever appearance in the Finals of Ghana’s most prestigious High School basketball tournament.
Defending champions Kumasi Girls Senior High School has represented the region in the past two finals for Ashanti Region and St. Louis’ play has kept the run alive.
Kumasi Girls lost 17-23 to Shama Senior High School and will battle PRESEC Osu for the bronze medal. Like St. Louis, Shama are making their debut appearance in the final.
