Two time Olympic Gold Medal winner Angel McCoughtry was present at the El Wak Stadium in Accra, Ghana to witness the 2020 Sprite Ball Championship final game between Shama Senior High School and St. Louis Senior High School.
McCoughtry is in the West African nation for the second time after visiting Ghana for the first time in September last year and held the first ever all female basketball clinic in the country. The clinic was held at the Tema Community 4 Court and over 100 females participated in the exercise.
The long time Atlanta Dream star Forward recently returned from a long term knee injury and has set sight on making the USA roster for the upcoming Olympic Games.
McCoughtry has two gold medals at the Olympics following wins at the 2012 and 2016 Games held in London and Rio de Janeiro respectively.
Shama emerged winners in the Girls Division after bagging a 15-14 win over St. Louis Senior High School; the title is Shama’s first ever in the history of the competition.
