Prempeh College go into its final game in the 2020 Sprite Ball Championship at the El Wak Stadium in Accra needing a win at all cost to stand a chance to play in the quarterfinals.

The team had a 21-10 lead midway through the third quarter but ended up losing 21-24 to West Africa Senior High School (WASS) in Group D.

Prempeh did an excellent work preventing WASS Point Guard Karim Minai from controlling the pace of the game and generally frustrated the usually reliable floor general.

The game had a lot of turnovers from both teams and blocked shots as both schools made amend on the defensive end for anemic plays on offense.

However, Forward Courage Agbekpornu proved to be the hero as he scored eight straight points and 10 points in the second half to give WASS a 22-21 lead.

Minai came through with a late layup off a good drive to the basket for the win. In Adisadel College’s first game in the tournament, the team clinched a 26-23 win over Osu PRESEC.

In the Girls Division, Accra Wesley Girls Senior High School lost its second straight game after falling 9-17 to Shama Senior High School.
