Mfantsipim School has obliterated Sekondi College thanks to a 49-8 win; the result is the biggest recorded in the 2020 Sprite Ball Championship at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
Defending champions Mfantsipim blew Sekondi completely away in a must win game after the former lost surprisingly to Keta Business College 24-32 in the opening game of this year’s competition.
Mfantsipim School Captain and Small Forward Gabriel Hammond led by example by driving several times to the lane for layups. He got fouled on some drives and converted from the free throw line.
Mfantsipim led 23-5 at the end of the first half and continued to pile on the points as Sekondi College committed several turnovers and missed long desperate three point shots.
This puts Mfantsipim in a very strong position to qualify to the quarter finals while only a massive win over Keta Business would SEKCO’s campaign in Group A.
Opoku Ware School plays St. John’s School next in a game a win for Opoku Ware puts them in the quarterfinals.
