James Okine has officially returned to Pope John Senior High School as Basketball Head Coach Basketballghana.com can confirm.
The move comes as the team prepares to compete in the 2020 Sprite Ball Championship which runs from January 3-4 at the Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
Okine guided Pope John through the Eastern Regional qualifiers; the school topped the Division ahead of Asoum Senior High School.
Both schools will represent the region in the Boys Division at the national competition this weekend.
Okine led Pope John to two bronze medals during his three year run at the helm before leaving the program for educational reasons.
Pope John is in Group C alongside 2018 Champions PRESEC-Osu and Adisadel College in what has been described as the Group of Death.
In his absence, Pope John was led by Kofi Elias but missed out on matching the previous mark or beating it.
Pope John’s bronze medals were headlined by Guards Emmanuel Derry and Sanisa Merdi.
