Yeboah (left) receives MVP Award

Former Sprite Ball Champion Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah is in line to win the Female Athlete of the Year at the 45th Sports Writer Association of Ghana (SWAG) after getting nominated in the aforementioned category Basketballghana.com can confirm.

Yeboah won gold at Ghana’s biggest High School Basketball tournament in December 2016 with Kumasi Girls Senior High School following a 30-29 win over Accra Wesley Girls High School in the final.

Rose is expected to be present on Kumasi Girls bench in the latest edition of Sprite Ball from January 3-4 at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.

The young Guard’s starring role in the competition earned her the Most Valuable Player Award in her third and final run in the tournament.

Since graduating from Kumasi Girls, Yeboah has excelled in High Jump for University of Cape Coast (UCC) and won gold at the Junior African Championship held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast earlier this year.

Yeboah cleared 1.83 metres to win gold in the competition and improved her mark to 1.84 metres at the African Championship in Rabat, Morocco in August.

The young multi talented athlete is in the running to be named Female Athlete of the Year with Triple Jumper Nadia Eke and Long Jumper Deborah Acquah.
