Team Tema topped Team Accra to win the maiden edition of the Africa Basketball Festival held on December 24 at the Bukom Arena.
Tema won three of the four competitions representatives from both teams participated in; Accra’s sole win on the night came in the headline All Star Game.
Accra beat Team 56-55 in overtime to win the big game that featured some of the best players in the West African nation.
However, Accra lost out to Tema in the Three Point Shooting Contest, Ladies Free Throw Shooting Contest and Slam Dunk Contest.
Emmanuel Wolff won the Three Point Shooting Contest beating Accra representative and fan favourite Kontor Appiah to the title.
Naa Shika Moffat won the Ladies Free Throw Shooting Contest while Moses Abu beat Accra representative James Amotoe from Accra to win the Slam Dunk Contest.
An unexpected level of intensity in the All Star Game contributed to a host of missed dunks in the contest due to player fatigue.
The All Star Game had Tema take a 29-22 first half lead only to head to overtime after Amotoe inspired an Accra comeback.
