Reigning champions of the Tema Community Basketball League, Nungua Coldstore, arein great form heading to the playoffs after ending its 2019 Regular Season campaign on a high note.
The team beat Teshie Vikings 57-37 after wrapping up the playoff first seed a week before; the win is Coldstore’s 21st of the season.
The two time league winners won all but one game in the regular season and are due to play the yet to be decided eight seed in the first round of the playoffs.
Coldstore’s final game comes on the back of the team getting heavy representation in the Tema All Star Team due to compete against Accra at the Africa Basketball Festival on December 24 at the Bukom Arena.
In other results, league debutant Tema Wildcats effectively ended Francophone All Stars playoff chances by recording a 39-35 win. With the win, Wildcats have a chance to move up the standings to seventh place with a game left to play against Vikings on December 22.
Tema Heat beat Sakumono Titans 39-34 while the game between Teshie Rangers and Tema Community 2 was called off due to Rangers absence. Community 2 was handed a win via forfeit.
