Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC-Osu) dominated Greater Accra regional qualification games held this past weekend for the 2020 Sprite Ball Championship.
PRESEC-Osu will represent the Region at the national competition in the Boys Division and Girl’s Division; next year’s Sprite Ball Championship runs from January 3-4 at the El Wak Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
2018 Sprite Ball Boys Division Champions-PRESEC Osu- qualified alongside West Africa Senior High School (WASS). West Africa won silver at the 2019 Sprite Ball.
Home side and former Silver Medal winners Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) surprisingly lost out on qualifying.
PRESEC Legon showed out at the Accra Mayor’s Cup held in November and won the tournament at the expense of St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School.
In the Girl’s Division, PRESEC Osu and Accra Wesley Girls Senior High School clinched the available qualification spots with Accra Wesley Girls returning to the competition.
Accra Wesley Girls lost the Accra Mayor’s Cup 11-13 to WASS but won the Dynamics School League prior to the qualifiers. Accra Wesley Girls are two time Silver Medal winners at Sprite Ball.
