Ghana Center Nathan Mensah bounced back from a string of underwhelming performances to register a double double in San Diego State University’s latest win in the US Men’s College Basketball 2019-2020 season.
Mensah’s 12 rebound, 12 point and four blocks performance in 25 minutes as a starter for the Aztecs; San Diego State beat San Jose State University 59-57.
The win is San Diego’s 10th of the season and maintains the team’s winning run in the season; San Diego plays San Diego Christian University next on Wednesday, December 18.
6 foot 10 inch Mensah converted four of eight field goal attempts and converted four of five free throw attempts in the contest.
His impressive performance on the boards resulted in the second year player grabbing seven offensive rebounds and five defensive rebounds.
Mensah was the second top scorer for San Diego behind Matt Mitchell’s 13 point outing; Mitchell added nine assists, a block and an assist.
Fellow Ghanaian Joel Mensah had a quiet night as he scored just a point and grabbed a rebound in five minutes.
