Tema Youth Basketball Club is representing Ghana at the Temple Jam Basketball Tournament in Lagos, Nigeria but the team missed out on a win in its opening game.
Tema lost 65-68 to Gombe Bulls from the host country to open its account in the competition; Tema trailed 28-36 at the end of the second quarter.
The competition has eight teams featuring with Team Youth drawn in Group B alongside Bulls, Ebun Comets and Anambra Flames.
Group A has Gidi Giants, Niger Porters, Delta Force and Oluyole Warriors competing; Tema is due to play Comets at 16:00 GMT today.
Veteran Coach Emmanuel Quaye is the leader of the contingent in Nigeria who moved from Ghana following the conclusion of Ghana’s premier club competition-Accra Basketball League this past weekend.
Tema is due to wrap up competition at the group phase with a matchup against Anambra Flames at 14:00 GMT on Wednesday, November 20.
Long term team members including Kwame Boamah Djan and Brian Kwami made the trip.
