With a few weeks remaining on the regular season schedule of the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League, the battle for playoff places is really heating up.
Over the weekend, Sakumono Titans made positive steps towards securing its first ever playoff run in the league; Titans is one of three teams making its debut in the league.
Sakumono beat Tema Community 2 47-46 at the Tema Community 4 Court; Community 2 has all but secured its spot in the postseason.
The highlight of the game was a vicious dunk by Guard/Forward James Amotoe off a Community 2 turnover; the youngster posterized Prince Anning in the process.
Spintex Knights recorded a 51-46 win over Tema Wildcats to cement its top four rank in the 12 team standings. On the other hand, Wildcats playoff chances worsened.
Coldstore and Tema Community 4 continue to stay put in the top two spots with Tema Rockets in third place. However, Teshie Rangers are all but out of contention for the playoffs with the team in the bottom spot.
