Ghana's Braves of Customs competed in BAL qualifiers in 2019

The most dominant team in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division responded well after suffering a loss in the opening game of the 2019 League Playoffs Finals.

Braves of Customs shook off a 57-65 loss to Adenta Leopards in Game One to clinch an 89-62 win over Leopards in Game 2 earlier tonight at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

Unlike the first meeting, Braves had the game’s lead through all four quarters in another tough battle between the budding rival sides.

By clinching the must win game, Braves have given life to its chances of retaining the league title; Game 3 is on Sunday, November 17 at the same venue at 17:00 GMT.

Veteran Shooting Guard Baniba Dodzi returned to the lineup after missing two games in the playoffs and contributed to the team’s success with an impressive run of plays in the latter part of the third quarter and three minutes into the final quarter.

Braves had a ton of contribution from several members of the team; Jeffrey Djimatey and Kofi Asirifi hit big three point shots, Samuel Abbey dominated with his midrange shot and James Pappoe and Suleman Abubakar made their presence felt in the post.

Despite competing well, Adenta couldn’t recover from a 60-68 third quarter deficit and generate enough three point shots on a night Leopards lost the battle inside the post.
