Braves of Customs and Adenta Leopards have progressed to the finals of the 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) season playoffs.

Both teams bagged wins in postseason games played earlier tonight at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu with two more games expected to be played on Saturday, November 9 at the same venue.

Customs bagged a 65-34 win over Reformers of Prisons in the Women’s Divisions first round to progress to the finals. The league winner for this season is to be determined in a three game series.

Braves led 26-18 at half time but Prisons ended the half strongly after scoring six straight points late in the second quarter. Customs front court duo of Matilda Gordon and Gloria Gyampoh missed layups during that stretch after a good start to the quarter.

Both ladies performed better in the second half to lead the multiple time league champions to a big win; Reformers Guard Promise Ofori went on a 4-0 run but had to exit the game late with an ankle injury.

In the Men’s Division I, Ghana Fire Service had a blistering 19-9 start against Adenta Leopards but couldn’t sustain its offense which capitulated as the game wore; Leopards secured a 91-65 win.

A slew of Leopards players headlined by Muhaimin Guba, Fred Asante and Kontor Appiah ensured Leopards dominant display reflected in the score despite Dennis Dugbennu’s 10 point scoring run and back to back three point shots from Daniel Amartey.
