Ghana Forward Ben Bentil is off to a slower than expected start in his maiden run in the EuroLeague Basketball Tournament with Panathinaikos.
The 24 year old Forward has played in five games averaging 2.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in just 8:27 minutes in his first run in the highly respected competition.
Bentil has conspicuously missed extensive time for Greek Champions Panathinaikos in the continental championship after his big move in the offseason.
The 6 foot 8 inch player who plays Power Forward also moved from fellow Greek side Peristeri GS after averaging 12.5 points and 6.7 rebounds.
Bentil has failed to score in double digits with his best performance coming in a four point, three rebound outing against Anadolou Efes. Panathinaikos beat Efes 86-70.
Panathinaikos is set to face Valencia Basketball Club on Friday in the team’s sixth game at the preliminary stage. Bentil is the first Ghana born player to play in the NBA following his stint with Dallas Mavericks; he got drafted 51st overall by Boston Celtics in the 2016 NBA Draft.
