Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Center Amida Brimah has suffered a torn ACL injury during a practice session at the Indiana Pacers facility.
The latest development comes at a time Brimah was preparing to play in his third season in the NBA Gatorade League after missing out on a roster spot for Indiana Pacers.
Fort Wayne Mad Ants-Pacers Gatorade League affiliate-had Brimah as the starting Center for the upcoming season before the injury.
The 25 year old is likely to miss out on the upcoming season; injuries like Brimah’s usually take nine to 12 months to fully heal.
Brimah has two years experience in the Gatorade League with Austin Spurs and won the 2017 title in his first season with the San Antonio Spurs affiliate side in the development league.
Amida’s spot has been taken officially by veteran big man Hasheem Thabeet who was drafted second overall in the 2009 NBA Draft behind Blake Griffin.
Thabeet is from Tanzania and like Brimah, the experienced Center went to University of Connecticut.
