Tema Community 2 had a very strong start in its matchup against Francophone All Stars in the latest round of games played in the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League.
C2 clinched a 59-50 win over Francophone despite a strong finish from 2018 bronze medal winners All Stars.
Nana Tuffour went on a 14 point run scoring atwo three
pointers to open the game. Cedric Kore ended the run scoring five straight
points including a three point shot. Kofi Attafuah and Kwame Attafuah scored as
C2 led 24-8 at the end of the first quarter.
Yannick Kordia, Blay Junior and Fred Mando got points for
Francophone with Kwame Attafuah and Tuffour draining three pointers for C2.
Prince Anning scored layups inside the paint earlier in the quarter.
Francophone trailed 19-38 at the end of the first half.
Tuffour stole the ball and scored a fast break layup to open
the third quarter. C2 got points off fast break opportunities with Francophone
turning the ball over. Emmanuel Kuffour scored off a drive but the team’s key
offensive threat Kore fouled out of the game.
Francophone went ona 6-0 run early in the final quarter but
Enning’s layup ended the run. Francophone Forward Kuffour scored six points off
the low block to trail 47-57 with 2:20 remaining. C2 got buckets late on to clinch
the nine point win.
