Ghanaian side Braves of Customs will compete in the last phase of game in the preliminary round of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) qualifiers.
Customs is in Group B and will compete in qualification games from October 29 to November 3 in a yet to be determined location. Basketballghana.com gathers Benin’s capital, Cotonou will host the games.
The perennial Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I Champions are in the Group B alongside Abidjan Basketball Club (Côte d’Ivoire), ASPAC (Benin), AS Nigelec (Niger) and National Port Authority – Pythons (Liberia).
Only the top two teams progress to the Elite 16 stage where the top ranked six teams in that stage progress further to final stage.
Six league title winning teams selected from Egypt, Tunisia, Nigeria, Senegal, Morocco and Angola join in to determine which team wins the inaugural edition of the NBA-FIBA Africa joint venture.
Games in Group F are set to be played in the same period. However, teams including Patriots from Rwanda and City Oilers from Uganda have qualified.
