Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Center Amida Brimah stands
to earn $50,000 despite getting cut from Indiana Pacers final roster for the
2019-2020 NBA season.
Amida and two other players were released by Pacers ahead of
the October 21 deadline for final roster announcements by NBA teams.
Guards Wade Lemon Jnr. and C.J. Wilcox and Brimah were left
out of Pacers final roster after Indiana’s final preseason game played on
Wednesday, October 16.
Indiana Pacers lost 111-119 to Minnesota Timberwolves in the
last of four preseason games; Brimah did not play in the game.
After signing a one year, partially guaranteed deal with
Pacers following a string of impressive performances for Brooklyn Nets in the NBA
Summer League, an Exhibit 10 clause was inserted in Brimah’s contract making
him eligible for the bonus money if he didn’t make Indiana’s final roster.
This is the second time in two years Brimah has competed in
preseason on an NBA roster but missed the final roster. Last season, he suited
for San Antonio Spurs but got cut and returned to the team’s Gatorade League
affiliate-Austin Spurs.
