Budding Ghanaian Center Ebenezer Dowuona has committed to play for North Carolina State University after picking the University ahead of a crowded group of interested colleges.
San Diego State University, Auburn University, Tulane University and Georgia Tech University made offers to the 6 foot 10 inch player.
However, Dowuona picked North Carolina State and has made his reasons known in an interview with 247sports.com in the aftermath of his decision.
“NC State really has a great staff and great players…stayed very consistent with me throughout my recruitment and let me know how important I was to the class. That’s really one of the biggest reasons why I committed to the school. I can’t wait to play with guys like him in the future” he said.
Dowuona is likely not to play extensive minutes in his first year at North Carolina in 2020 as the third Center.
However, that should aid his development from an athletic but raw shot blocking player into a more rounded player.
