Kawukudi Warriors earlier today secured a big win over Ghana Fire Service in the final phase of the 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I season.

Warriors piped Fire 59-58 in a close game played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu with Point Guard Sylvester Asirifie draining a late three point shot to give his side the go ahead basket.

Fire took a 26-23 first half lead but conceded the game’s lead heading to the fourth quarter with Asirifie scoring a buzzer beating three point shot from the top of the key to put Warriors up 40-38.

The veteran Guard was clutch as he delivered a crucial shot to give Warriors its third win of the season; teammates Obed Vorjee and Yaw Afrifa were integral in the late run.

However, the exciting matchup was the only fixture that ended with top games between rivals Ghana Police Service and Braves of Customs in the Women’s Division and Braves of Customs and Adenta Leopards in the Men’s Division I getting cancelled.

Police trailed Braves 26-29 in the early parts of the third quarter but the game was halted then cancelled due to a blackout at the league venue. The blackout was caused by an electrical fault Basketballghana.com gathers.
