Adenta Leopards Basketball Club has secured its second CAP7 Memorial Basketball Tournament Male Division title in a row by winning the 2019 edition of the competition.
Leopards beat Tudu Galaxy 60-45 in the Men’s Final played earlier tonight at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu. Adenta topped Kawukudi Warriors in last year’s final.
Leopards glorious start was key in silencing the usually vociferous partisan crowd at the venue; Adenta led 38-15 at half time. The fans willed Galaxy to victory over Adabraka CYO earlier in the tournament.
Galaxy put up a good fight in the third quarter with Shooting Guard David Okoe scoring five straight points including a three point shot. Kwame Opoku assisted Emmanuel Wolff’s three pointer and scored himself to all but put the game to bed with his side leading 51-26 prior to the fourth quarter.
Adenta kept Galaxy at arm’s length to clinch the 15 point win and secure another CAP7 Division title. Opoku was named Most Valuable Player in the Division.
CYO beat Tema Youth 45-43 to place third.
