Reformers of Prisons recorded a 28-25 win over Ghana Navy in the Women’s Division of the 2019 CAP7 Memorial Basketball Tournament in its first game in this year’s edition.

The game took place at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu ahead of Braves of Customs 52-18 win over Tudu Galaxy at the same venue.

Prisons had to keep its nerves in check as Navy mounted a spirited comeback in the dying seconds as the latter reduced its deficit from seven to three in the final seconds.

The team will test its resolve later tonight at 16:30 GMT against defending champions Ghana Police Service who make their debut in this year’s competition.

This year’s tournament is due to end on Saturday, September 21 with the final round of games due to be played. Police is aiming to defend the title it won ahead of rival Braves of Customs.

CAP7 is honour of former Accra Basketball League (ABL) Chairman Benjamin Baafi.
