Kawukudi Warriors run in the 2019 CAP7 Memorial Basketball Tournament is a short lived one following the team’s early elimination from the competition.

This year’s edition of the competition held in honour of departed Accra Basketball League (ABL) Chairman Benjamin Baafi, commenced on Wednesday, September 18 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

Warriors played and lost 32-37 to Adabraka CYO on Day One of the competition; Kawukudi was a late replacement for University of Ghana (UG) who withdrew.

Last year’s silver medal winners have been eliminated as a result of the five point loss; this year’s tournament is being played in a single elimination format.

In other results, DUNK Knights lost 38-46 to home side Tudu Galaxy in a game featuring ABL Men’s Division II teams. Men’s Division I side Tema Youth was expected to clinch a win over Division II side Junior Reformers and the former did exactly that.

Tema beat Junior Reformers 47-53 and in the Women’s Division, Tudu Galaxy won its matchup against Ghana Fire Service via forfeiture.
