University of Ghana (UG) Men’s Basketball Team has withdrawn from competing in the 2019 CAP7 Memorial Basketball Tournament.
Kawukudi Warriors have replaced UG since the announcement was made; this gives Kawukudi a chance to make a second appearance in the tournament.
In last year’s competition, Warriors placed second after losing to Adenta Leopards in the final game at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.
The 2019 competition tips off later today at the aforementioned venue at 16:00 GMT with a matchup between Ghana Fire Service and Tudu Galaxy in the Women’s Division.
Warriors will compete on the first day of competition against Adabraka CYO in the third matchup on the day. The teams head to the game with contrasting fortunes.
CYO ended a two game losing streak by beating Tudu Magic 40-38 in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I recently.
In the same division, Warriors lost 44-62 to Tema Youth; the tournament is set to end on Saturday, September 21.
