Defending champions of the CAP7 Basketball Tournament Women’s Division, Ghana Police Service, is ready to compete in the tournament judging by its dominant performance in its last league outing.
Police hammered Tudu Galaxy 67-18 in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) games played this past weekend at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.
The win was Police’s ninth win in 10 games with only loss in the campaign coming against bitter rival Braves of Customs in the first round.
Police beat Braves 39-27 in last year’s final game to complete an excellent season that Police win the league title ahead of perennial winners Customs.
This year’s CAP7 Tournament is due to commence on Wednesday, September 18 in Tudu with eight teams including Police competing.
Reformers of Prisons, Galaxy and Ghana Navy are among the teams tipped to be in action later this week. The tournament ends on Saturday, September 21.
CAP7 is in honour of departed ABL Chairman Benjamin Baafi who passed away two years ago after battling a long term illness.
