Defending Champions of the CAP7 Women’s Division, Ghana Police Service, gets the chance to defend its title in this year’s competition.
The team headlines a strong field to compete for the 2019 title of the competition created to honour prominent personalities in Ghana basketball.
CAP7 was coined from departed Accra Basketball League (ABL) Chairman Benjamin Baafi’s nickname-Capito- and jersey number-7- during his playing days.
The tournament is due to run from Tuesday, September 17 to Saturday, September 21 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu with games set to tip off at 15:30 GMT.
Police’s bitter rival Braves of Customs, Tudu Galaxy, Ghana Fire Service, Ghana Navy and Reformers of Prisons round up the remaining members of the field.
Braves and Police battled in last year’s final but Police got the better of Braves as Police Forward Georgina Ntow was named Most Valuable Player in the tournament.
The win was one of three recorded by Police last season as the team won the ABL title too; Braves beat Police in its first meeting this season.
