Ahead of the Citi Business Olympics, Stanbic Bank’s Male Basketball Team continues its preparation for the upcoming tournament.
The StandBig Blues secured a 46-34 win over FBN Bank’s First Ballez at the Aviation Social Center late on Thursday, September 12.
Blues dominated the opening exchanges in the game and established a huge 32-13 half time lead over First Ballez. Kojo Danso and Paul Fekpe drained multiple three point shots to lead the charge.
Blues 19 point lead whittled down to 14 (42-28) thanks to a great third quarter from Lantei Blankson-Mills who scored 12 points including two shots from three point range.
Ballez scored on a pair of fast break layups in the final quarter but Blues maintained its lead thanks to great defensive plays Jesse Jones and Richard Addo; Addo stayed close to Blankson-Mills forcing the ball out of his hands to seal the 12 point win.
Blues Forward Frank Abban missed the game through injury but is set to feature in the Business Olympics.
Both organizations are preparing for the multi sport competition that takes place on September 21 at the Burma Camp Leisure Center.
