Defending CAP7 Basketball Tournament champions Adenta Leopards headline the roster in the division for this year’s edition of the competition created to honour prominent personalities in basketball development in Ghana.
Leopards beat Kawukudu Warriors 40-35 in last year’s final played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu with Guard Kwame Mawukor winning the Most Valuable Player Award.
Eight teams will compete in the upcoming competition including Leopards. The tournament tips off on Tuesday, September 17 and ends on Saturday, September 21 in Tudu.
Junior Reformers, Adabraka CYO, Tema Youth, University of Ghana (UG), Icons, DUNK Knights and Tudu Galaxy round up the roster in the division.
UG and Knights are competing in the tournament for the first time; six teams will compete in the Women’s Division like last year’s edition.
Ghana Police Service won last year’s tournament ahead of fierce rival Braves of Customs thanks to a 39-27 win in the final game.
CAP7 was named after former Accra Basketball League Chairman Benjamin Baafi nicknamed “Capito” and wore jersey number 7 in his playing days.
