Ghana Air Force lost the fourth quarter in its matchup against Ghana Navy and the loss proved decisive as it had a direct impact on the end result of the matchup.
Air Force lost 29-34 after entering the fourth quarter tied on 25 points with Navy at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu on Wednesday, September 11.
The loss is Air Force is eighth in 11 games of the 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division season. Navy improves its record to seven wins in 10 games.
The game was tied at 25 at the end of the third quarter. A 10-2 run by Navy had the team leading Air Force 32-28 with 1:39 minutes remaining. Maria Mensah buried a three point shot from the top of the key. Juliana Cudjoe and Kelly Johnson scored on drives to the basket.
Grace Yinamyah buried one of two free throws but Air Force turned the ball over on the next possession off a Navy miss. Navy clinched a 34-29 win.
