Adenta Leopards Basketball Club is firmly entrenched in second place in the 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) standings after beating Ghana Fire Service 68-51.

Muhaiman Guba buried a patented jump shot as Adenta got off to a 4-0 start. Fire Center Emmanuel Ocquaye buried a three point shot to get side on the board.

Kwame Opoku converted one of two free throws and assisted Guba’s layup inside the paint. Daniel Amartey scored a deep three point shot and Dennis Dugbennu scored four points for Fire.

Adenta scored six straight points including a trio of free throws from Opoku to lead 19-13 at the end of the first quarter.

Fire generated points from three point range to trail by three points (21-24) but Leopards finish on a good note to lead the first half 30-24. Leopards maintained its lead (50-38) heading to the final quarter as the game developed into a scrappy affair.

Fire scored late baskets through Dugbennu and Ocquaye’s three pointers but Adenta got on the board through varied ways and topped it with a deep three from Opoku to seal the win.
