Two time Olympic Basketball Gold medal winner Angel McCoughtry has headlined a successful basketball clinic in Ghana.

McCoughtry headlined the one day event at the Tema Community 4 Court in Ghana’s capital, Accra after arriving in the West African country earlier in the week.

The event was open to young individuals with special emphasis on girls development in the sport; this is the first ever clinic to have a WNBA player hosting.

A host of female basketball players in Ghana also participated in the program as instructors and had special sessions with the five time WNBA All Star.

Players included Braves of Customs trio Matilda Gordon, Martina Doe and Gloria Gyampoh and Ghana Fire Service Guard Carlyn Adjei.

Players from the Tema Community Basketball League joined key personalities like veteran Coach Emmanuel Essel Worbil at the clinic.

McCoughtry is due to depart on Monday, August 26 and return to Atlanta Dream in the WNBA for the final phase of the season. Aside playing in the WNBA, McCoughtry has playing experience in Russia and Turkey.
