The final roster for Nigeria’s Senior Men’s National Basketball Team-D’Tigers- has been named ahead of the 2019 FIBA World Cup.The upcoming competition runs from August 31 to September 15 in China with 32 nations competing; USA are defending champions.
Nigeria is one of five African nations to compete in the tournament; Angola, Ivory Coast, Tunisia and Senegal will represent the continent in China.
2015 African Champions Nigeria finalized its roster for the tournament after winning the Peak International Tournament.
Veterans Al-Farouq Aminu, Ike Diogu, Ben Uzoh, Vincent Nnamdi and Ekpe Udoh headlined the team with youngsters including Jordan Nwora also making the team.
Chimedzie Metu of San Antonio Spurs and Josh Okogie of Minnesota Timberwolves will make their debuts with Nigeria at an international competition after making the roster.
The West African powerhouse is in Group B alongside Russia, South Korea and Argentina. Ahead of the competition, Nigeria won the Peak International Tournament after beating the likes of Montenegro and Poland.
