WNBA star Forward Angel McCoughtry’s visit to Ghana goes beyond headlining a basketball clinic according to basketball Pundit Sandy Asiedu.

Asiedu, who doubles as Sports Coordinator for Priceless Entertainment, made this statement in an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com following a successful clinic held at the Tema Community 4 Court.

The five time WNBA All Star is on her first trip to Ghana and hosted a clinic with young individuals in the Port City with special emphasis on developing female players in the sport.

“The essence of her short but carefully planned trip to Ghana is not just to have a clinic…her main goal is to help build a court here in Ghana with help from US based sponsorships and including indigenous Ghanaian companies” Asiedu said.

The event unofficially dubbed “Girl Power Basketball Clinic” had several established female players in the West African nation participated and volunteer as instructors including 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards Most Valuable Player Matilda Gordon.

McCoughtry has won two FIBA World Cup titles and two Olympic Gold medals with Team USA.
