Tema Youth Basketball Club’s form in the second half of the 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I season is in free fall at the moment.
In three straight games, the team has failed to register a win in as many appearances and has all but lost the chase on rival Braves of Customs. Braves lead the league and yet to lose a game in 11 games.
Tema suffered its latest loss at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu following a 55-78 loss to Adenta Leopards in a game between second and third ranked teams in the league.
The result comes on the back of recording a 41-58 loss to Ghana Fire Service on August 1 and a 59-61 loss to Adabraka CYO on August 10.
Teams recruiting heavily during the league break while Tema Youth stood pat are reportedly one of the major reasons behind the team’s slide in the second round.
In other results, University of Ghana (UG) lost 25-39 to Ghana Air Force in the Women’s Division while Fire Service beat Reformers of Prisons 52-49 in the Men’s Division I.
