Veteran Basketball Administrator John Manyo-Plange has expressed his commitment to the development of basketball in Ghana.

At the recently ended Pops Mensah-Bonsu Camp held over two days in Ghana’s capital Accra recently, the Basketball Africa League (BAL) Head of Strategy said:

“Talking to the kids you find that they love the game of basketball, they want to find a way to continue but a lot of them are giving up…because they don’t see the future and I think that’s what we have to do here is to provide them that pathway and inspire them to know that we are going to be back and we are going to be doing a lot more things.”

Manyo-Plange was recently appointed Head of Strategy for the BAL which tips off in January next year with 12 teams from African countries due to participate.

The upcoming league is a joint initiative of basketball world governing body FIBA and the world’s biggest basketball league NBA. Manyo-Plange has served at the NBA Africa Office since 2010.
