Atlanta Dream Small Forward Angel McCoughtry will lead a basketball camp with special emphasis on female players Basketballghana.com can confirm in Ghana.

The five time WNBA All Star is expected in the West African nation on Thursday, August 22 ahead of the clinic which is the first ever to be held in Ghana with a female basketball player as the headliner.

Her visit comes as the two time Olympic Gold medal winner nears a return from injury that has hampered her appearances and production this season.

In Ghana, McCoughtry is expected to lead the Camp at the Tema Community 4 Court on Friday, August 23 with girls four years and older eligible to register for free and participate in the event.

Ghana’s leading basketball portal understands household names on the Ghanaian circuit including former Ghana Basketball Awards Most Valuable Player winner Matilda Gordon will play key roles at the camp as instructors.

In nine seasons in the WNBA, 32 year old McCoughtry has averaged 19.2 points, five rebounds and 2.1 steals. On the international stage, McCoughtry has two FIBA World Cup titles in her impressive trophy collection.
