General Manager of NBA Gatorade League side Capital City Go-Go Pops Mensah-Bonsu has stated young players are “the future of basketball”.
He made this statement at the two day basketball camp dubbed the Pops Mensah-Bonsu Basketball Camp in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The first of two camp days was held at the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Court on Sunday, August 18 and the concluding phase is scheduled to take place at the same venue today from 9:00 GMT to 16:30 GMT.
Registration for over 100boys and girls participants between ages 12 and 18 was free and former Toronto Raptors Forward Mensah-Bonsu stated:
“Am humbled and overly excited that all of you came out we were only expecting 100 kids it looks like double that so for me being from Ghana, I wanted to make sure I give back to you guys because you guys are the future of basketball”.
The Camp is taking place to give young players a window of opportunity to maximize their talent. Mensah-Bonsu was born in England and represented Great Britain on the international stage.
