The maiden edition of the Pops Mensah-Bonsu Basketball Camp in Ghana is due to commence later today Basketballghana.com can confirm.
The Camp is a two day basketball event to be held at the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Court in Ghana’s capital Accra.
Boys and Girls between ages 12 and 18 are eligible to register to participate in the activities for free and get the chance to learn skills in the game and life lessons.
General Manager of NBA Gatorade League side Capital City Go-Go Mensah-Bonsu arrived in Ghana on Friday, August 16 evening prior to the camp.
He arrived with newly named Basketball Africa League Vice President and Head of Strategy John Manyo-Plange at the Kotoka International Airport.
Both men are Ghanaians who have long been associated with the NBA in various capacities. Manyo-Plange is a veteran Administrator while Mensah-Bonsu played in the NBA for the likes of Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets and Toronto Raptors.
Today’s event runs between 13:30 and 17:00 GMT. Mensah-Bonsu has participated in previous camps in Ghana alongside NBA players including Serge Ibaka and TJ Warren.
