The quarterfinal list for the 2019 FIBA Women’s African Basketball Championship (AfroBasket) is complete with games set to commence in a few hours.

Unbeaten quartet Nigeria, Senegal, Mali and Mozambique booked their spots early in the competition by topping their respective groups.

However, Angola, Egypt, Ivory Coast and DR Congo had to win their respective matchups in the Round of 16 stage to progress to play today’s games.

Spots in the semifinals and possibly finals await the competing nations as Senegal and Angola are drawn to faceoff in an eye catching fixture tonight at 19:00 GMT.

Defending champions Nigeria play the opening game of the stage against DR Congo with Mali taking on Ivory Coast and Mozambique playing Egypt.

Angola beat Kenya 64-51, Ivory Coast topped Tunisia via a 74-50 win and Egypt battled to a 68-63 win over Cameroon while Congo beat Cape Verde 78-46.

The games are taking place at the Dakar Arena in Senegal and the top six ranked nations at the end of the competition progress to a the qualifying tournament for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
