After running for years without a corporate sponsor, the Accra Basketball League (ABL) is in line for a sponsorship package per reports reaching Basketballghana.com
News of a possible deal with telecommunication giant MTN has been rife within the Ghanaian basketball circles since a league meeting was held over the past weekend.
The meeting took place on Saturday, August 3 at the Lebanon House Court to discuss pertinent issues observed in the first half of the 2019 season.
Among the issues raised was a possible end to the long sponsorship drought that has plagued the league and had serious financial consequences on stakeholders.
Details are yet to be officially communicated by league administrators who also informed club managers, coaches and captains at the meeting of a series of friendly games to be played against a team from Benin.
The international friendly games will involve three top teams from the league as part of activities to improve the quality and popularity of the league.
Two league games are scheduled to be played at the Prisons Court on Wednesday, August 7.
