Mali has a big chance to successfully defend its FIBA African Under 16 Basketball Championship later tonight when the West African nation takes on Egypt.

The matchup is the final game of this year’s competition in Rwanda’s Kigali Arena for the first time ever. Kigali Arena will host the 2021 Men’s African Championship at the senior level.

Mali run over Mozambique with a 102-25 result in the semifinals to record its third triple digit mark in this year’s tournament.

Mariam Coulibaly was at the heart of Mali’s high scoring numbers as she registered 35 points, eight rebound and four assists. Coulibaly is a front runner for the Tournament’s Most Valuable Player Award.

Egypt on the other hand, beat tournament favourite Angola courtesy a 71-50 result and look forward to overturn the 57-88 loss to Mali in the preliminary stage.

Mozambique plays Angola for the bronze medal game while Rwanda battles Uganda for fifth place after beating Tanzania 38-32.
