Despite registering a win, Teshie Rangers will finish the first half of the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League in last place.

Rangers beat Akatsi Rifles 56-42 but that proved not enough to move the team from the bottom spot in the 12 team standings.

Teshie completed the first round with 15 points after picking up four wins in 11 games; one of the wins include a gutsy 31-26 victory over Tema Community 2.

Former League champions Tema Community 4 secured a 50-31 win over Spintex Knights to move into the top four rankings.

Community 4’s eighth win in 11 games moves the side into second place and just behind league leaders Nungua Coldstore.

Despite losing to C4, Knights superior goal difference over 2018 Finalist Tema Heat was enough to give the league debutant a fourth place finish.

Interestingly, four other teams including eighth ranked Sakumono Titans and ninth ranked Francophone Stars have 15 points and are separated only by goal differences.
